Participation in the World’s Grain Forum.

As part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum this year for the first time took place the event, which will undoubtedly be regular and significant for the APK’s agriculture sector – the World’s Grain Forum.

Forum was given a special importance at the state level, and this is confirmed by the article ‘On the development of the grain market’, which author was President Dmitry Medvedev, was issued on June 4, 2009 on the official site, and the statement of the President the World Grain Forum’s opening.

Ignore such interesting and important event our company certainly could not, and in the activities conducted under the Grain Forum was attended by:

From the IPF-AGRO Company’s delegation’s point of view to the forum’s key issues can be attributed the statements, which were voiced repeatedly, about the need to ensure price stability on domestic and foreign goods markets of  the agricultural products, and also to ensure an adequate supply for the control of the prices’ fluctuations of the agricultural products.

In response to these problems there was proposed to establish a Regional Grain Pool, which could unite Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, reaching a total of 30% of all World wheat production’s volume. The establishing of such pool would allow to carry out more effective and coordinated interventional policy for price fluctuations’ stabilization of the market and control of collapses in the grain market.

Undoubtedly it is necessary to notice the attention, which President has given to a problem of laylands, Medvedev ascertained, that we don’t process about 20 million hectares of land. In fact there was a task to enter the uncultivated land into circulation, because it will give an essential addition in total gathering of commodity crop agricultural production.

Also there paid a special attention that it isn’t necessary to take a great interest in particular energy production from vegetative raw materials’ energy from food resources and using for biofuel’s manufacture of farmlands.

Coming back to the question about the creation of a regional Grain pool, there were told that for efficiency from its activity it is necessary to coordinate interaction of manufacturers, suppliers and consumers.

Also there was placed the emphasis that country’s infrastructure is poorly constructed: complexes for storage and processing, logistical structures and terminal complexes, also that it is necessary to build new and upgrade the existing ones.

For the result of communication with another participants of the World’s Grain Forum It is necessary to notice a saturation of meetings and preliminary reached arrangements, that is indicating the importance and advantage of the actions’ organisation of such level.

Representatives of the ‘IPF-Agro’ were invited on behalf of Viktor Alekseevich Zubkov, the Organizing Committee Chairman to Solemn reception on the occasion of carrying out the World Grain Forum in the Governmental residence.
